I do not know if I ever had a defined role that I wanted to be when I was growing up; I had many ideas: Attorney, Engineer, CEO, Professor, etc. What I do know, my parents always told me I could be whatever I wanted to be. They encouraged both team and individual sports; including playing on the boy's team if necessary.

From a very young age, my parents demanded that I be accountable and responsible for my actions. It was my choice and effort that would make me successful! Advice, commitment and support I was honored to pass along to my daughter!

Many ways….Her work ethic, the greatest tennis player of all time! Serena looks at defeats or setbacks as learning opportunities and while committed to her craft, took on the most challenging role of being a Mom! Her quote serves as a reminder, not only to raise other women up, but to be kind and humble!

Shared Voices

AWM is important to me for the service of recognition we provide to other women in the media landscape, from content creation, to production to monetization (and many many areas in between!) When women are recognized for their good work, it helps all women. The success of one should be the inspiration to all. Additionally, AWM is open and inclusive which is a tremendous benefit!
